Cover Reveal: INEVITABLE AND ONLY by Lisa Rosinsky

Today we're happy to share the cover of INEVITABLE AND ONLY, a YA contemporary debut by Lisa Rosinsky, coming October 10 from Boyd Mills Press. Here's a little about the book:

Cadie is close to her father. They are so much alike—same temperament, sense of humor, and love for the theater—and Dad always knows how to comfort her . . . until the day he announces that he has another daughter.

Suddenly, Cadie has a sister, Elizabeth—a sister who is six months older than her, a sister who is about to move in with them, a sister whose very existence means that Cadie’s beloved father cheated on her mother when they were already married. Suddenly, Cadie wonders if she really knows her father at all. What other secrets might he have? Can she still trust him?

And when Elizabeth arrives, Cadie’s worst fears come true. Elizabeth looks just like Dad; not only that, she seems all too perfect. Until she begins stealing Cadie’s place in the family and even Cadie’s one true love . . . But it turns out Elizabeth has secrets of her own, too.

This emotional, funny coming-of- age story explores the choices you make when your family—and your life—changes overnight. Are these choices the inevitable and only ones? And will they ultimately bring your family back together or push you further apart?

Lisa is here to share her thoughts about the cover:

Inevitable and Only is narrated by fifteen-year-old Cadie, whose world turns upside down when she suddenly finds out she has to share her whole life with a stranger-- who also happens to be her sister. A sister no one in her family ever knew about. It was important to me to see both girls on the cover, because as much as this book starts out as Cadie's story, it also becomes Elizabeth's.

The idea for the book came to me on a long, middle-of- the night drive, with one burning question: "What if you suddenly found out you had a secret sister . . . and she took over your life?!" And that question ended up right on the cover! With those two shadows that also look like spotlights, Eva Vazquez's gorgeous cover art really brings the drama. In fact, that's what this book is all about: family drama, high school drama, and DRAMA drama-- i.e., Shakespeare.

But without further Much Ado (har har) . . . Kate, would you do the honors before I embarrass myself with more Shakespearean puns and/or implode from excitement??

I certainly will. Ready?
